very worried about story direction :')
This review contains spoilers. I honestly adored this manga; Byletta is a captivating mc, Arnald also has a lot of baggage and made terrible assumptions of his wife but as the chapters progress he does seem to genuinely reflect/soften up which is so sweet - then ch.12 hit me in the face.

Byletta's uncle decides to pull the "Arnald abandoned his wife for 8 years" which is infuriating because not only is that not valid critique (was he supposed to awol during an active WAR ??), there's so many actual flaws Arnald actually has that could've been mentioned. Being away for fighting in a war isn't one of them.

Arnald also SAs Byletta at the end of Ch12. I think they're trying to show his jealous streak but it meshes terribly with the character growth he had in the last few chapters where we're shown he's seems to genuinely care. I'm not saying fictional noncon isn't a valid media to enjoy. It's normal to explore/like questionable/dangerous scenarios in a fictional setting and it doesn't mean you endorse SA etc. If your reaction to Ch12 is "woah he's madd omgGG!!! *squeal*" that's valid, I'm not trying to shame you. It's just personally, I find it jarring like he jumped back 9 chapters in terms of character growth and I'm scared this 'jealous streak' won't be well written and will ruin the story for me.

Sincerely hoping he feels guilty last minute and doesn't go through. I'm rooting so hard for this story and their love and I'm so scared I'd be disappointed if they fumble it by making Arnald a terrible person.
